Marv's Poems and Musings

The poems they seem to keep coming
What to with them is troubling
Though I fear for all to see
I trust only Pam with key

Age and desire
Hormonal desire to rule
In quest to make the fool
Age heals it a bit and so
Away with desire we go
Not really all gone
But begets the yawn

More on aging
Seventy five years have I past
Know not how much more I can last
The muscles flex not so
And soon the joints to go
The hearing is at a loss
Understanding is now a toss
The blood flows thin
And coldness sets in
Heat of summer takes its toll
In extreme to try the soul
But still there are heart strings to tug
When from a granddaughter comes a hug

On things not done
Though I put my thoughts to rhyme
Perhaps better would be to mime
But action I fear to do
Lest my fool folly to rue
And comes the day to fear
When dire blackness appear
It all is not to matter
For dust is left to scatter

On memory loss
It's all there to behold
But if truth be told
All the facts there's to know
Aged mind curtails the flow
No longer do the facts flow out
With rapidity to once more flout
The mind has it all
Not an easy task to recall
But given some space
We know the mind did not erase
For most stuff comes back
And we no longer lack
That what we think we know
But again the facts may not flow

Ode to Reynaud's Phenomenon
There once was guy who got old
Not good but truth be bold
Till he noted his fingers got cold
Reynaud's phenomenon he was told
On old age he was no longer sold
But he's not quite ready to fold
For granddaughter he gets to hold
As most would agree if poll'd
